Car painting question/clarifications?
OK so i bought this old police car and removed all the decals/stickers /squad #'s and also the paint is chipping ALL OVER. Now underneath where the stickers were the paint was preserved good but around them the paint has been baked in the sun & weathered down to primer in some spots and metal in others...its very spotty and random where the metal comes through....so should I just sand off the old preserved paint and dont worry about the spotty metal?
ALSO any tips on painting a car in general...I know basics you got to rough up the areas you paint for the primer-paint-clear coat to stick and look well...
wet sand 100 per cent of the painted surface then prime and re[eat the sanding the more times you do this cycle the better the final result will be NOTHING does better than old fasion elbow grease
